Overview

Position Summary
Director of Sales (DOS) – Central will define, develop, and supervise pricing, programming and sales incentives within their territory and budgets.  DOS will manage a team of FXMUSA Regional Sales Managers, Regional Chain Managers, State Managers and Area Sales Managers; develop relationships with distributor executives, management and sales force. 

DOS will report to the Vice President of Sales (VPS) on a regular basis to ensure that milestones are met and work is progressing as per-plan.

Position will define, implement and manage a sales strategy, by state and brand for his or her territory that will contribute to the achievement of FXMUSA sales objectives.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Exempt, Full-time position. This position functions with 40 hours of work, Monday through Friday, with travel and some weekends (see Travel Section below)

  • Hiring, supervising, coach and direct FXMUSA Sales Team (Regional Sales Managers, State managers, Key Account Managers) for the purpose of achieving FXMUSA goals and priorities within the territory, and develop relationships with distributor executives, management and sales force.
  • Develop and execute annual business plan for his or her territory in compliance with Mionetto USA sales strategy and policies (by state, brand and key SKU’s)
  • Present, update annual sales plans on a regular basis to distributors and Mionetto USA VPS
  • Implement and supervise pricing, programming, sales incentives within their territory budgets
  • Conduct and prepare Top-to-Top meetings with Distributor Executives with Mionetto VPS
  • Establish and maintain solid relationships with key accounts and chains buyers within territory
  • Provide timely and accurate weekly/monthly territory progress reports to VPS and pertinent  distributor personnel
  • Work in tandem and effectively with FXMUSA National Account team at the distributor and customer level to  achieve company sales goals
  • Attending and participating in distributor sales meetings, product seminars and trade shows if needed
  • Ability to upsell and sell additional products/services into existing clients
  • Conduct sales meeting and training seminars for distributor sales staff; On Premise staff trainings and in-store tasting at retails stores as well as educational seminars to customers and consumers, when necessary
  • Developing positive relationships with other employees of the company in Marketing, Administration, Logistics, Finance and other departments as needed

Required Education and Experience

  • BA/BS degree and 15 years of field sales experience in the wine and spirits industry
  • 10 years’ management experience
  • Strong experience in calling on retail food, drug or mass merchandise chains at the head quarter level, preferably in the adult beverage category
  • Sales channels strategic approach and planning
  • Planning, organization and knowledge of the chain business
  • Understanding and ability to improve and to grow sales in all areas of the business
  • Knowledge of retail category management concepts
  • Advanced training in sales skills.
  • Leadership Ability - to provide relationship management, development, and team building within the RSM, State and  KAM teams
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Must have the ability to interact with all levels of management and personnel
  • Experience in preparing written presentations, reports and pricing strategy for all sales channels
  • Strong strategic analysis skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • Supervisory Responsibility
  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities, and serves as a coach and mentor for positions in this department.

Travel

  • This position has frequent travel requirements outside the local area and overnight. Occasional travel is international.  
  • Able to travel and work during some week-ends or evenings as necessary
