Overview

This strategic sales management role will be responsible for representing the Freixenet Mionetto USA portfolio to National Accounts within the Club, Grocery, Drug, & eCommerce Channels. The Director of National Accounts, Omnichannel will possess a strong working knowledge of US National Account Retailers & have a track record of success in growing sales results within this channel.

Responsibilities

The Director of National Accounts will be responsible for growing FXMUSA’s business within some of the leading Brick and Mortar & Online Retailers in the US. Playing a vital role in our national sales organization, you will work closely with our Regional Chain Managers & Sales Directors to lead the growth of our portfolio within these accounts by increasing distribution & programming support.

Major Responsibilities Include:

  • Calling on top National Account retailers within the Club, Grocery, Drug and Online channels (specific customer responsibilities to be determined).
  • Prioritize business development opportunities, identify levers for future growth, and develop a tactical plan to drive volume through:
    • Increased distribution, improved promotion effectiveness, or other tactics
    • Ensure FXMUSA brands achieve programming goals including fair share or better of activity
  • Collaborate with Category Management, Trade Marketing, and Sales Teams to develop impactful sales presentations focusing on the brand and SKU priorities of Freixenet Mionetto USA.
  • Utilizing a consultative selling approach to partner with National Retailers in assisting the growth of FXMUSA products in store & online.
  • Collaborate with Distributor National Account Sales Teams to mutually grow sales within the realm of customer responsibilities through the development of creative sales programs that are managed from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with Distributor National Account eCommerce teams to maximize merchandising & promotional opportunities online.
  • Frequently visit National Account stores & websites, surveying & analyzing for opportunities to gain incremental product distribution & promotional support.
  • Analyze sales data and recommend changes to all distributor chain teams in order to maximize FXMUSA presence in the market place.
  • Be familiar with competition and remain apprised of market trends and development within specific product categories, geographic regions, and National Accounts.
  • Provide timely and accurate weekly/monthly territory progress reports to Sr. Director, National Accounts and pertinent distributor personnel.
  • Attend corporate sales planning meetings and provide FXMUSA Management with suggestions to increase planner support, improve distribution and sales across the National Account network.
  • Develop best in class customer relationships with key accounts.
    • Ensure alignment of FXMUSA plans with key customer strategies, plans and goals
    • Ensure appropriate execution tactics are in place to maximize effectiveness our plans and programs
  • Developing positive relationships with other employees of the company in Sales, Marketing, Administration, Logistics, Finance and other departments as needed.
  • Perform other work related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • BA/BS degree and 7 years of Chain/National Account sales experience in the wine and spirits industry.
  • Strong experience in calling on retail food, drug or mass merchandise chains at the head quarter level, in the adult beverage category
  • Familiarity with the following National Accounts strongly preferred:
    • COSTCO, Albertson/Safeway (All Banners), Kroger (All Banners), Publix, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Whole Foods, Total Wine, Target, CVS, Walgreens, Cost Plus, 7-Eleven, Winco, Sprouts, Circle K
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Must have the ability to interact with all levels of management and personnel
  • Planning, organization and knowledge of the chain business in store & online.
  • Understanding and ability to improve and to grow sales in all areas of the business
  • Knowledge of retail category management concepts
  • Advanced training in sales skills.
  • Experience in preparing sales presentations, reports and pricing strategy for all sales channels.
  • Strong strategic analytical skills
  • Strong proficiency in Nielsen data, IRI data, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, as well as knowledge of Diver Trade Pulse and iDig (VIP)

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Lift and carry a 45+ pound case of product on a regular basis.
  • Must reside within an hour of a major airport.

 

Travel

  • Approximately 50% Domestic Travel.
  • Occasional International Travel.
  • Able to travel and work during some weekends or evenings as necessary
